【摘要】:ThistestmethodcoverstheCalculatedCetaneIndexformula,whichrepresentsameansfordirectlyestimatingtheASTMcetanenumberofdistillatefuelsfromAPIgravityandmid-boilingpoint.Theindexvalue,ascomputedfromtheformula,istermedtheCalculatedCetaneIndex.TheCalculatedCetaneIndexisnotanoptionalmethodforexpressingASTMcetanenumber.Itisasupplementarytooltoestimatecetanenumberwhenusedwithdueregardforitslimitations.TheCalculatedCetaneIndexformulaisparticularlyapplicabletostraight-runfuels,catalyticallycrackedstocks,andblendsofthetwo.Note1ThistestmethodistemporarilyretainedbecausetheproposaltotheU.S.EPAtocontroldieselfuelaromaticsconcentrationsviaa40CalculatedCetaneIndexminimumisbasedonthecorrelationbetweenTestMethodD976andaromaticsconcentration.TestMethodD4737isthepreferredmethodasestimatorofcetanenumber.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
